Who's Beyond Redemption?

I have been working on a sermon for some time, and I have been attempting to explain who is exactly beyond redemption. I mean this in a biblical/christian sense rather than redeemed in the eyes of man. There are many who look at Christianity from an outside perspective and decide it is not for them because it is just too easy. Or more commonly, because they feel they are unworthy of God's forgiveness.

I have been studying the book of Hosea recently for the sermon mentioned, and I'll take a moment to explain the book of Hosea. The book takes place in Old Testament Bible Times. Hosea is instructed by God to marry a harlot named Gomer to be a living picture of God's love for Israel. Hosea and Gomer marry and have children. Gomer goes and cheats on Hosea, leaving him very hurt. She seeks the goods of her new lovers. Despite her forsaking her husband, God instructs Hosea to go buy back Gomer from slavery. Hosea is obedient and does so, and takes her to be his wife once again. This paints a great picture of God's relationship with Israel because despite Israel going and giving their praise to baal, the Lord is still faithful and seeks to redeem Israel. He promises one day the nation will turn back to Him, and someone out of the lineage of David will take the throne and rule Israel.

Israel is unworthy of God's grace. Gomer was unworthy of Hosea's forgiveness. Like Israel and Gomer, we are also unworthy of the Lords grace. However, we are still forgiven. Our sins were paid for by Christ. All we have to do is accept Christ into our hearts and confess Him to be our Lord and savior (Romans 10:9).

I completely understand why many choose not to follow Christ. It just seems too easy. Not having to do anything except follow Him seems too easy. We should have to do something for the Lord in order to get our salvation. But, nope! The price was paid by the Son of God.

In essence, no one is beyond redemption. You are only beyond redemption if you choose to be. If you choose to live a life separate from God, you will have your wishes granted. If you choose to live a life with Christ, He will accept you into His family for all of eternity. I pray for those who read this to find something that can be a blessing for them. If you feel I have written something not accurate here, I will not be insulted if you message me and correct me. I am still a young Christian striving to be a blessing to others.

Thanks for reading!
